Puzzle Calendar

Today will be a short post on a new design I've been working on for the past few weeks. I've had this idea long ago of making a generic calendar on a jigsaw puzzle . By generic it means that the calendar can be use all year long, in any year, in any century. The idea of making it based on jigsaw puzzle pieces is that you take out a piece of the puzzle each day to show what day it is today. It’s a manual calendar but it sure will create fun for the children and adults alike.

As for the implementation, i’m thinking of attaching each puzzle piece with a magnet, so that the whole puzzle can be place on a magnetic white board or paste it on the fridge.

I've been thinking on what theme should I use for the puzzle background image. In the end I decided to go with a scrapbook theme, the tool kit I used was downloaded from shabbyprincess.com. There are free downloadable tool kits there, as well as tutorials if you are into scrapbooking.

Here are the completed puzzle calendar, a little bit messy i know. It’s my first try with a scrapbook theme anyway.

And here are the months that will be accompanying the days.

Now the design is done, i’m hoping to kick start this project very soon. But with 54 number of puzzle pieces to be cut (how I wish I have a laser cutter machine) I wonder it can be finish anytime soon =) .
